Meet Patrick

“We all deserve to feel safe, secure, and healthy”

I’m an organizer, nonprofit leader, and proud Minnesotan. I’m running for Hennepin County Commissioner in District 6 because this is my home.

My twin sister, Emma, and I were born in Saint Louis Park and raised in Shorewood. I was (sort of) named after my dad’s favorite goalie so it’s no surprise I love hockey. I learned to skate at Woodhill, scored my first goal for Minnetonka, and played at Orono and Providence Academy before college.

Emma and I went to preschool and kindergarten at St. Therese in Deephaven before moving to Providence. My parents adopted another set of twins, Becan and Camden, this time identical. Watching them fall in love with the same places I did reminds me just how special our community is. My grandma still takes me to the Original Pancake House–she loves their flapjacks–and I rarely leave Excelsior without a new book.

After graduating from Providence, I studied history at Georgetown. I left committed to building a world that worked better for all of us. I started by raising money for refugees at a Catholic nonprofit. Providing food, water, and shelter to migrants in Latin America put groups like ours in Trump’s crosshairs. It was clear we needed a new president. In June 2019, I moved to Iowa to work for Kamala Harris. After she dropped out, I drove to Arizona to organize for Mark Kelly and Joe Biden. We won the presidential race by 10,000 votes. Following a brief road trip, I came home for good.

I took a break from campaigns working at Yahad-In Unum, a nonprofit fighting antisemitism through Holocaust research and education, before joining the Senate DFL Caucus. As Field Director, I led with the belief that every voice matters, because we can’t build a better community if we don’t listen to each other. My team knocked on over 500,000 doors and flipped the Minnesota Senate. Today, I’m a political advisor at the DFL, working with leaders across the state to deliver for all of us.

I earned a reputation as a fearless shot-blocker playing hockey. I worked hard to help my team, even when it hurt, and that’s what I’ll do for you. This place, “Hennepin County District 6,” my home, is worth it. We all deserve to feel safe, happy, and healthy. That’s the community I know and love, and that’s the community we can build together.
