I'm running for Hennepin County Commissioner in District 6 as a Democrat because this is my home

Why I’m Running

To me, our community isn’t “Hennepin County District 6.” It’s home. I grew up in Shorewood and Medina, played hockey for Minnetonka and Orono, went to preschool in Deephaven, and took dance classes in Hopkins. Today, I live in Edina, where my great-grandparents raised my grandma 75 years ago.

I see so many good things in our community–incredible schools, lakes, parks, businesses, nonprofits, and people–but we’re facing real challenges.

Some of us feel unsafe or unwelcome, housing is out of reach, often on purpose, and the climate is changing. In the middle of a mental health epidemic, especially among young people, equitable care is expensive and hard to find. Gun violence and addiction are ravaging our community.

We’re doing well for some of us. I’m running for Hennepin County Commissioner because I want to do better for all of us.

Politics feels broken right now, but it doesn’t have to. Together we can build a safer, healthier community that celebrates our differences and protects the things we love–our water, our jobs, our air, and most importantly, each other. Hennepin County, and especially District 6, is one of the best places in the world to live, and that should be true for everyone who wants to make it their home.

We can get there. All of us, together.
